Our Leadership

In 1948, Ernst Skalla, (a German Immigrant), embarked on his own journey to realize the American dream.  His passion, hunger, and curiosity is what led him to start SASCO Chemical Group, Inc. in Albany, Georgia.  Now with the second and third generation of leadership, this same desire fuels our continued growth and brings us into a new era for SASCO Chemical Group, Inc.

Randy Skalla
Randy Skalla
Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Randy Skalla is Chief Executive Officer of SASCO Chemical Group, Inc.  He is the son of the late Carolyn and Ernst Skalla (the founder of S & S Company of GA, Inc., now known as SASCO Chemical Group, Inc.). He started his career with the company in 1972 after his father passed away. Mr. Skalla helped to transform this small family chemical company into a successful, international corporation.

Under Mr. Skalla’s direction, SASCO became known as the “problem solvers”. Over the next thirty years, he developed some 200 various chemical products which include industrial cleaners, food plant sanitation products and water treatment chemicals. Following these products were the PolyForm-F and Formalex that Mr. Skalla created and patented for the medical industry to dispose of aldehyde waste in a safe and environmentally sound manner. In 1996, he was awarded a full methods patent for his new method of filtering gaseous and particulate matter from a laser surgical plume.

In the late 90’s, Mr. Skalla developed a group of products in the rubber industry that propelled SASCO as a global leader in the anti-tack and release coating industry.

And in retrospect of a remarkable career, he admits that his single greatest accomplishment is his family, which includes his wife, four children and three granddaughters. One of his greatest joys is having the privilege of working with his now grown children as they take the reins and run the day to day operation of the company.
