Innovation has made us who we are today; reinventing ourselves through innovation will secure our future and make us who we will be tomorrow.  With a sixty-seven year tradition of providing chemical solutions for our customers problems, SASCO has developed, produced, and marketed over twelve hundred products in six diverse markets.  To continue this forward-thinking progression, SASCO has opened a state-of-the-art Innovation and Technology Center, that houses our R&D, Technical, and Process-Pilot plant team.  This facility is equipped with a wet chemistry lab, rubber processing lab, and analytical science lab.

Gary Freeman
Gary Freeman, PhD
Director of Technology & Quality

Gary joined SASCO in 2006 and currently serves as the Director of Technology & Quality. He heads up the technical teams that are responsible for the research, development, commercial scale-up and quality control related activities associated with SASCO’s various product lines. Gary is a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology with a PhD in Organometallic Chemistry and has 30 years of new product development experience. He has worked in various technical capacities from Senior Scientist roles to Senior Technical Management positions with a number of Fortune 500 companies.

His technical expertise spans the areas of surfactant science, colloidal chemistry, inorganic pigment development, mineral processing technology, surface modification technology for particulates and coating formulation science as applied across a number of end-use market areas including detergents and industrial cleaners, wet-end paper chemistry and paper coating technology, architectural paints and industrial coatings as well as reinforcements and performance additives for rubber and plastic composites. His technical expertise in the area of surface modification for inorganic particulates being used in coating, paper, rubber and plastics applications is particularly well recognized. He is the inventor of over 40 US patents, many of which cover commercially successful products and process technologies.
